MMC enjoys collaborating with highly skilled media professionals throughout the world. The company’s principals, Felix and Kathrin Werner, work with a wide array of emerging content creators to develop and tell unique stories.
Felix’s interest and expertise in the film industry goes back to early childhood. The son of actor / director Oskar Werner and grandson of actress Joan Bennett, Felix grew up surrounded and inspired by legendary European and Hollywood artists. Felix showed a passion for art and visual storytelling from a young age. He began his career in the Education and Film Departments of the L.A. County Museum of Art, then gained firsthand knowledge of the ins and outs of production through a variety of jobs on studio and indie film sets.
Today, Felix works as an independent media financier, producer of films and original series, channel creator, and distributor. He designed Modern Media Company to have the ability to produce content with a wide variety of styles, formats, and budgets, with the goal of shepherding them from development through the distribution process.
Kathrin began her career working as a financial consultant in Europe. Seeking to expand her creative horizons, the Swiss native moved to Los Angeles, where she studied film at UCLA and worked extensively in production before becoming Vice President of International Sales for Motion Picture Corporation of America. She later worked as a sales agent for Capitol Films and assisted European entertainment companies as a segment producer and consultant.
Currently, Kathrin divides her time between running a successful international real estate business and consulting on Modern Media Company acquisitions, financing and development deals.
